THE SHED
British gardens are characterised by the presence of a recurring object : the shed.
Available in every shape and colour, the garden shed has become an essential, but has lost its’
aesthetic appeal throughout the years.
The project aims to propose a minimalistic and modern version of the British garden shed.
The general shape is inspired by the archetypal beach huts of Aldo Rossi. The studs on the façade are inspired by traditionnal Swedish architecture. The Falun Red generally associated to this architecture is here replaced by the Yakisugi technique, a traditional Japanese technique of wood protection, which gives it its colour and texture.
The project is a revisited minimalistic version of the shed, the result of multiple inspirations, but which nonetheless respects the traditional shape and purpose.
